Austrians enjoy a high standard of living and are very proud of their culture and traditions. Mostly Catholic they are quite conservative, family oriented and very well educated. This is perhaps contrary to the thigh slapping, beer drinking yodellers most would associate with Austria. Austria is mostly the Winter sports capital of Europe, with skiing galore, but the quaint villages and beautiful architecture will offer the trendy tourist plenty of historical and cultural delights to feast on.
