Day 1 - Starting: Kathmandu & Finishing: Kathmandu
Upon arrival, check in to your hotel with the assistance of our local guide who will provide you with a briefing of the next day's itinerary. The rest of the evening is free for you to explore the local bazaars or a guided orientation walk around Kathmandu. Dont forget to check out the great range of Urban Adventures on offer in Kathmandu.
Day 2 - Starting: Kathmandu & Finishing: Kathmandu
In the morning you may opt for an optional Everest scenic flight before we explore Kathmandu on an organised sightseeing tour. You will visit Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where you can observe Buddhist monks in prayer in the monasteries surrounding the stupa.
You will also visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here you will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing, and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. The rest of your afternoon in Kathmandu is free for further sightseeing and exploration.
Drive to Bhaktapur (approx 40 mins), the best preserved of the medieval city-states in the Kathmandu Valley is home to some of the finest religious architecture in Nepal. Spend the day exploring Bhaktapur’s famous temples, starting at Durbar Square, which is reputed to be the most beautiful piece of art in Nepal. Durbar Square is home to the majestic Lion Gate and Golden Gate. You will also visit the Pashupati Temple, a replica of the Bagmati River in Kathmandu. This will be an enlightening morning of discovery and enrichment, as you truly delve into all Bhaktapur has to offer. We explore the cobblestone streets soaking up the atmosphere before visiting the 15th century palace in Durbar Square.
Day 4 - Starting: Kathmandu & Finishing: Kathmandu
Your trip ends after breakfast this morning and you will be transferred by a/c private vehicle to the point of your ongoing journey.
The Golden Gate at Durbar Square, with its intricately moulded depictions of mythical nymphs and monsters, is known as one of the most dazzling artworks of its kind in the world. English art critic and historian Percy Brown described it as “the most lovely piece of art in the whole Kingdom, placed like a jewel, flashing innumerable facets in the handsome setting of its surroundings”.
